Job Title: Lifeguard
Work Year: Varies by the season
Reports To: Natatorium Manager
Salary Range: Starting at $10.25/hour
Dept./School: Natatorium
Primary Purpose: To provide a safe and orderly environment at the Natatorium.
Qualifications:
• Minimum age 16
• American Red Cross Lifeguard training certification
Special Knowledge/Skills:
• Communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow procedures and guidelines.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and procedures related to possible infectious or hazardous materials.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
• Responsible for the safety of all patrons.
• Checks daily attendance, handles entry fees, register participants into various programs, and assists customers.
• Attend all in-service lifeguard trainings.
• Adheres to all Frisco I.S.D. policies and procedures.
• Enforces all pool policies in a consistent, professional manner.
• Ensures a safe, clean, and well-maintained facility.
• Prepares pool set-up requirements as directed by the aquatics management team such as the following but not limited to moving lane lines, bulkheads, and setting up Colorado Timing equipment for meets.
• Follows a rotation of stations as directed by the head guard and/or aquatics management team.
• Complete facility safety checks and reports.
• Maintains equipment inventory.
• Participates in all events, in any capacity, at the Natatorium.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Exposure to high humidity and potential chemical hazards in pool water. Moderate lifting; crouch/kneeling; sitting/standing. Work on slippery surfaces.
