Corolla Beach Rescue (CBR) is now accepting applications for the position of Ocean Lifeguard.

Applicants must:
- be at least 18 years of age or older
- posses a valid driver's license
- be able to swim 500 meters in 10 minutes, or less!
- be able to run 1 mile in 8 minutes or less!
PAY:
Ocean Rescue Lifeguard base pay is $11.25+ per hour, $11.75 per hour for EMT certification &/ or $0.25 per hour per season experience. Overtime pay if working 40+ hr/ wk.
HOUSING:
CBR does offer affordable employee housing, however space is limited. A housing deduction of $65-75 per week will be deducted from the employee's wages, and will be required to sign a housing responsibility contract.
PAID TRAINING:
Applicants who are offered a position will also be required to successfully complete 48 hours of in-house USLA Open Water Lifesaving training along with First Responder/ CPR training. Mandatory Training Camp will be conducted May 15th through May 26th 2017.
A completed performance verification does not automatically qualify you for a position. You must pass the required 500 meter swim and 1 mile beach run trials in Corolla.

Corolla, NC is part of the barrier islands of the northern Outer Banks, in between the Currituck Sound to the west, and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. The area is surrounded by wildlife, historical sites, and is known to have some of the nicest beaches on the east coast. CBR covers an area of approximately 23 miles of beach stretch, and over 100 square miles of the Currituck Sound. At the peak season, we operate 17 stationary lifeguard stands and 10 roving patrols, and welcome approximately 1/2 million beach goers.
