Lifeguard - Downtown Boise, West Boise, and Caldwell
Whether it’s just for recreation or serious competition, the Y offers safe, healthy water sports, swim lessons, and fitness classes for every age and every skill level. We are also a “safety hub” where students can learn the life-saving skills of lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid, and more!
Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety of members and participants in and around aquatics facilities and prevents potential accidents by ensuring adherence to policies and program standards of the Treasure Valley Family YMCA.

Starting Wage Range:
$9.37 - $11.64 for summer
Key Qualifications:
Candidates must be 16 years or older. We have certification classes available for you! If the cost of certification is a barrier, the YMCA offers Financial Assistance for all YMCA programs. Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR, and Administering Emergency Oxygen Certifications prior to first day of employment. Candidates must possess the ability to articulate and enforce YMCA policies in a positive way and be able to engage strangers in conversations and create an inclusive, welcoming environment for a diverse group of individuals.
Additional Requirements:
We have a variety of full and part-time shifts available, and will work around other school and work schedules for the right candidate. If you do not have all of the above-mentioned certifications, training courses pre-hire will be available.
Must have ability to work in humid environment. Must also have physical ability to complete all lifeguard certification requirements.
