Camp Eagle Hill is looking for a responsible and well-skilled individual to be our Waterfront Director for the upcoming summer. This position would be contracted from June 15 - August 22, 2019.
Founded in 1963, Camp Eagle Hill is a family-run, coed sleepaway camp located in Elizaville, NY. Our campers range from the ages of 6-16 and come from not just the United States but also all over the world! Our Directorship knows and cares for all of our campers and staff and helps them to enjoy a great camp experience.

The Waterfront Director lives on the grounds of our camp in a private room, has three meals a day (included) and participates in a number of camp-related activities (outside the waterfront) that promote the success of camp’s program and general operation. We are looking to establish long-term relationships that will afford consistency from one season to the next.

Responsibilities:
- Working together with our Camp Director and Program Director.
- Supervision of a private, man-made lake and two swimming pools. Including their general maintenance and upkeep and all equipment used at these facilities.
- A program of swim instruction classes for children between the ages of 5 and 12 on a daily basis, as well as a few recreational swims each day (should have experience with a buddy system) with the option for boating.
- Supervision of a staff of approximately 10 college students who are all lifeguard-certified.
- Creating waterfront programs and implementing these ideas.
- Providing continued lifeguard training and exercises throughout the camp season to especially highlight areas of instruction and safety aspects of our waterfront’s usage.
Qualifications:
- It is most important that the Waterfront Director places safety as his/her top priority.
- Should have a strong Swimming background. This background may include competitive swimming but must include swim teaching experience, as well as previous supervisory experience.
- Should hold a current American Red Cross certificate in Lifeguard Training, CPR, and First Aid (or be able to obtain these certifications prior to the start of their employment).
- A WSI certification is preferred.
- Previous camp experience is a plus.
