Applicants may apply at the offices of Accuforce at 1567 North Eastman Road, Suite 2, in Kingsport. Lifeguard applicants must have American Red Cross certification.

Essential Functions
• Mans a lifeguard station in order to maintain the safety of all patrons
• Monitors activities at the pool to prevent accidents
• Practices preventative lifeguard measures and performs water rescues
• Administers First Aid/ CPR/ AED as necessary
• Cautions swimmers regarding unsafe practices and safety hazards; enforces and adheres to pool rules and regulations
• Follows emergency action plan and procedures established in the event of an emergency
• Maintains order in the pool and adjoining areas
• Inspects facilities for cleanliness; completes general pool cleaning and maintenance duties
• Works as a walking guard to patrol the pool area.
• Assists in the supervision of special activities and pool parties.
• Assists aquatic patrons with various needs pertaining to the pool areas.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Knowledge of general aquatic operating policies and procedures;
• Knowledge of modern first aid and water safety techniques.;
• Ability to assist in the planning, organizing, and coordination of pool activities and events;
• Ability to follow oral and written instruction;
• Ability to effectively respond in the event of an emergency.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with department staff and the general public;
• Skill in performing basic pool facility maintenance.
Education and Experience:
Must be a minimum age of 15 and have a current Red Cross Certification in Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED and First Aid
